Legal Advice

People who need legal advice can find contact information for different legal services and centres in Australia..There are  four major parts of legal sevice including women's legal services, Aboriginal legal services, legal aid commission and community legal centres.
Women's Legal Services NSW is to give a voice to women and provide legal services, law reformation and community legal advice. Free legal advice is available over their general advice line: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm. Free interview or face to face legal advice may be found also. There is also a contact Line.for Aboriginal Women's Legal service. This a criminal law practice which provides advice for aboriginal adults and young people.
Legal Aid Commission is a legal aid youth hotline for juvenile justice, or a criminal offence.
The hotline operates from 9qm to midnight Monday to Friday and 24/7 for weekends and public holidays.
Community Legal Centres gives free legal advice, advocacy to residents in Sydney inner city, north shore and eastern suburb. Community Legal Centres also include the following services:
 Public Interest Advocacy Centre, which deals with ‘Public interest matters’ which affect the individual or small groups.
Consumer Credit Legal Centre provides free financial counselling, information, referral and legal advice to individual consumers in NSW on credit, banking and insurance issues. It also operates a credit and debit hotline and insurance law service.
Refugee Advice Provides free legal/immigration advice to refugees and asylum seekers seeking protection in Australia.
Other groups offering community legal sevices are Welfare Rights Centre (NSW), Intellectual Disability Rights Service and Criminal Justice Support Network, National Children's and Youth Law Centre , HIV/AIDS Legal Centre (NSW),Arts Law Centre of Australia,Homeless Persons' Legal Service (HPLS).
